For 39 years Virginia Q. Anthony made the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP) her professional home. Ginger, as she is fondly known, inspires our membership with her effective leadership, contagious enthusiasm, and passion for the field. Ginger’s leadership helped define the Academy and the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. She was integral in paving the way for a new era for our profession and helped establish AACAP as the leading voice of authority for childhood mental illnesses in research, treatment, and advocacy.
As a friend and colleague of Ginger, you can honor and thank her for her lifelong dedication to our membership, our organization, and our field by supporting the Virginia Q. Anthony Fund through a tax-deductible contribution. You may donate online or visit our Ways to Give to find other convenient ways to make your donation. Your gift will honor Ginger and support AACAP infrastructure and educational initiatives.
We invite you to read an interview with Ginger by Diane Shrier, M.D. from the 2012 May/June issue of AACAP News. Please share your stories or photos of Ginger by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for your support - and thank you Ginger for leading us, nurturing us, and for enriching all our lives.
